It is a website where users can write down a prompt about nearly anything, and it will answer using a massive database of text which it has been trained on. The website is capable of understanding context and generating coherent and fluent responses, making it well-suited for tasks such as conversation, language translation, and text summarization. Additionally, ChatGPT can also generate creative text, such as writing stories and articles. As a matter of fact, ChatGPT is so popular that (as seen in the image below) it reached 1 million users in five days, which took Instagram two and a half months, ten months for Facebook, twenty-four months for Twitter, and fourty-one months for Netflix.
OpenAI, the developers of ChatGPT, received over 13 Billion dollars total from the tech-giant Microsoft as an investment. They hope to get an edge over other companies such as Apple, Google and Meta.
AI has the potential to revolutionise a wide range of industries going from healthcare and finance to transportation and manufacturing. In healthcare, for example, doctors and scientists can use AI to analyse large amounts of medical data and identify patterns that could lead to new treatments for diseases.
