The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2: What To Expect

Summer romance is the key ingredient in the goals of many people's vacations. Unfortunately for some, the perfect warm seasoned romance is not that easy to attain. Luckily, there are many books and television shows to help give the perfect summer vibes and entertainment for any late night relaxation moment. Amongst these books and television shows is The Summer I Turned Pretty, which was originally a book series by author Jenny Han that then turned into a television show available on Prime Video. It tells the story of Isabel "Belly" Conklin (Lola Tung), whose family and their close friends, the Fischers, spend each summer in a beachfront home. The summer when Belly's entire life transforms is the primary emphasis of the book and show.

What happened in season one? (Spoilers Ahead!)

Summertime trips to Cousins Beach with Belly's mother and sister Steven usually included time spent with the brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah Fisher (Gavin Casalegno) and their mother Susannah. With her long-standing crush on Conrad, whom she hoped would finally consider her as a love interest, Belly was determined that this summer at Cousins' Beach would be different from the others. But as the summer progresses, Belly is caught in a love triangle with both brothers. All the while, she accepts Susannah's request to take part in a debutante ball at the country club.

The Summer I Turned Pretty season 1, episode 7 focused on Belly's debutante ball, which provided the perfect chance for her to invite Jeremiah along as her escort. Due to their close relationship, Belly almost forgot about Conrad. Interestingly, as Jere repeatedly expressed his admiration for her, she realised she could be able to develop a sincere connection with him. Even yet, Jere was unable to attend Belly's debutante ball since right before the dance they were meant to share, he finds out about his mother Susannah's sickness and is struck with sadness. Because of these circumstances, Conrad stepped in to join Belly in the dance.

When Jere and Susannah realised that Conrad knew all along, it caused the reveal of Susannah's cancer to blow up pretty dramatically in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 1 finale, which helped to explain why Conrad had been acting differently and depressed all summer. Conrad and Belly finally confessed their affection for one another in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 1, episode 7, which they both believed was unrequited. Fans are naturally torn between both brothers, but as the soundtrack of "This Love" by Taylor Swift plays over the final scene of Belly and Conrad together, everything feels right.

What do we know about season 2?

People have lately begun to get a sneak peek at their summer entertainment thanks to The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 teaser. In keeping with tradition, the teaser even included a new Taylor Swift song as the music for its debut. This time, it is a folk song, the love triangle ballad "August."

It's impossible to watch this brief season 2 teaser trailer without being giddy with anticipation for the season's premiere on Friday, July 14, 2023. Steven receiving his diploma, Belly, and Conrad making out at the dinner table, Taylor and Steven becoming more intimate, and the beginnings of the Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah love triangle.

People can be sure to expect a lot of drama, laughs, heartfelt moments, and romance in the new season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. As expected of a love triangle, hearts will certainly be divided between both brothers, and it's only natural that both of them will make hearts for great entertainment as we watch their stories with Belly unfold. The teenage drama is sure to make heads spin and help everyone have a taste of another one of Belly's memorable summers accompanied by the amazing vocals of Taylor Swift, whose songs are sure to be featured once more.
